Packing Advice for Chinaware

Very carefully wrap china items in sheets of blank newsprint paper. Place newsprint paper in the base of a dish-pack box for cushioning. Wrap each and every piece one-by-one then wrap up to three in a bundle with a twofold layer of paper. Place these bundled goods in the box in a row on edge. Surround each bundle with crushed paper or other cushioning supplies, being alert to leave no unfilled spaces. Add two or three inches of crushed paper on top of the bundle to fortify rims and make a level base for the next section. Horizontal cardboard dividers can be helpful in keeping layers level. Small plates, saucers and irregular bowls can make up an additional layer. Wrap and pack in the same way as bigger items. Finally, label every box with a good tag; for instance, "Fragile - China Ware".
